TRT injection frequency and effects on estradiol and free testosterone/SHBG

How to manipulate these by adjusting injection frequency

When you are on standard testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you are typically directly injecting testosterone cypionate or testosterone enanthate, which have approximate half-lives of 8-12 days and 7-10 days respectively. 

In the majority of cases I suggest injecting either twice per week (optimally every 3.5 days, in my opinion), or else every other day. 

By injecting testosterone, you are mainly controlling the amount of total testosterone in your system. 

The downstream effects that are also important are going to be:

  • Estradiol, which is influenced by aromatase activity

  • Free testosterone (the active form), which is influenced by SHBG levels
